Simple Systems Produce Great Results for Families
If you really want to make money working at home with your own family business, you MUST KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING & HOW YOU'RE DOING IT. It would shock you, how many people have none of the structure it takes to be successful. So whether you're looking to start a business or you want your business to be more successful here's a few specific things I KNOW will help you.
In a business model like network marketing, the biggest way you make money is by having people partner with you as a part of your team. To be able to do this well, you're going to need to be aware of a few things that most people overlook. Almost Every person you're talking to who is interested in earning money from home has a similar set of questions.
- Is this for Real?
- Will I loose money at this?
- Can I really do this?
So, if you are presenting information about your company, products, or how others can make money by being one of your team members, it's very likely that you may be unaware that your not answering the real question that your prospect is not asking. They want to know, Can I really do this?
When you do a whole dog and pony show with multimedia and pyrotechnic explosions your potential business partner is impressed, but they walk away saying I could never do all that. Or, if you have no process and you give your prospect 4 web sites, 2 DVDs, 4 CDs and 3 conference call lines.... they are sitting there thinking 'I don't have time for this'... and so, 'I really can't do this'.
The big buzzwords in network marketing systems are
- Keep your System Simple
- Keep your System Duplicate able
SIMPLE and DUPLICATE ABLE Systems Make You Money
Simple Systems are those that are EASY TO DO. For example, I often tell people I'm working with "If you can hand out a website or a phone number, then you can do this business". Here's the best part. It really is true! Anyone can hand out a website... it's so easy.
Duplicate able Systems are those that ANYONE CAN DO. For example, Let's say you're the kind of person that wants to do a whole dog and pony show with pyrotechnic explosions. The whole time you're explaining the micro-biological makeup at the sub atomic level your potential business partner is sitting there thinking "Wow, this is very interesting... but I can't do what he just did'.
If you don't get anything else, PAY ATTENTION RIGHT NOW. When you're looking for potential business partners, what you're really doing asking them to believe that they are going to make money with you. When you have a simple system that you Know, Do, and can Teach, then you're belief helps them believe. Your personal belief in your opportunity, products, and ability to make money is the magic dust that makes it all work. Your System is the structure that helps you believe and get results fastest.
As a professional in the home business industry you need a system that does most of the work for you. You need a System that YOU can KNOW, DO, and TEACH. The real goal when you're talking to a person who is interested in making money from home, is to help them believe that they really can do it by working with you. That's why, I always tell people 'If you can hand out a website and a phone number, then you can do this'. Then I send them to the webiste, or put them on a conference call. My tools do the work for me, and they sit back and realize that they can do that to... It's So Easy!
Just in case it's not clear at this point. Here's a real world example of how I build my business. I only have 2 steps, and they are very Simpe and Duplicate able. I make a great living just doing these 2 steps and teaching my team to do the same thing.
- STEP 1 - I send people to my website
- STEP 2 - I get them on a conference call
Yes, that's it... Really! LOL! All I do after that is ask them if they're ready to get started. If they say no, then I ask them what do they need to see, and when they see it they'll be able to make a decesion. That's my whole system, and I make a full time income showing other people how to do just that.
Here's what you should do with this information:
If you're looking for a new business, find one with a simple and duplicate able system. This means that you will have a system that you can Know what to do, How to do it, and that you can make money at it.
If you already have a business, especially in network marketing, you need to get it down to a few simple steps. For example in my business I often something like 'Look Joe, this is simple. If you can hand out a website and a phone number, then you can do this'.
If you will apply these factors in your business, then you can literally multiply your effectiveness and your income immediately. Why Your Business Partners MUST Be Teachable & Coachable
With out a doubt, one of the secrets in MLM or Network Marketing is finding the RIGHT people to work with. It doesn't matter if you have just one person in your organization or if you have thousands. You want to work with the right people. The really big hitters in this industry all know that their time is absolutely critical, so they learn to work with the right people. One of the key things to look for in a MLM Business Partner is that they be Teachable and Coachable.
People who ARE Teachable and Coachable are people who will simpy follow your lead or your system. They are the ones that you tell to use the tools and they use the tools. They ask good questions. They are exciting to work with because they follow the plan, and they get results.
People who AREN'T Teachable and Coachable want to challenge everything you say. They drain your batteries. It's painful to work with them because they're going to waste your time, Ignore what you say, and then blame YOU when they don't get results.
Experienced networkers know to work with people where they are. If someone won't listen, you really can't make them. So as a Network Marketer with hopes of reaching your dreams and helping other people, you have to learn how to pour your energy into the ones who WILL listen.
Most inexperienced network marketers have this experience exactly backwards. They pour all their energy into dragging people across the finish line, and leaving the people who really want success to fend for themselves. Unfortunately when you drain your batteries on the wrong people, you don't have any energy left for the good people who deserve your time.
So what do I do with this? It's simple. Reserve your time to personally work with people who deserve your time. When you give your personal time to people who waste your time it leaves you spent, and your it leaves your deserving team members with out your best. Support the rest of your partners with your group meetings, trainings, and conference calls. When they are ready to move forward you can always give them more of your support.

What to Look for in Business Partners
I've been mentored by several highly successful individuals who have take home income's over $100,000 per month. Yes, that is a PER MONTH income. I'm not talking about total sales; I mean that their TAKE HOME income is 6 figures per month. These individuals have made millions in MLM or Network Marketing and I have learned much from them. Specifically, I want to share some of the most critical things they look for in prospective business partners.
The 4 most important qualities in prospective business partners are...
- Burning Desire
- Teachable & Coachable
- Willing to Invest Time
- Willing to Invest Money
My next post will cover what it means to be Teachable & Coachable.

What Businesses Work Best for Families?
There are a million Family Businesses out there and it can be a real challenge finding a business that is a good fit for you and your family. The hardest part is really figuring out what kind of business works for you. So with that in mind, here's a few tips that seem to help most of the people I consult.
1) Know WHAT YOU WANT your Home Family Business to do for you! - This is really the most important thing. Maybe you just love working with people and really want to have employees, but most people really don't. Sit down with a notepad right now, and just ask yourself "What do I want my business to do for me?". Arming yourself with this just this info could save you THOUSANDS of Dollars and TONS of Time.
2) Flexible Hours - Parents need flexible hours. Most parents could not deal with a schedule that was going to keep them away from their family at critical moments. So you want to find something that you can do around those things that are important to you.
3) No Inventory - Most families don't have room to store all their kids coats, let alone have enough room to have boxes of products stacked all over their home. On top of that businesses that require you to keep products on hand also tend to require a much higher initial investment, this is typically cost prohibitive for families.
4) No Employees - Buying a business where you have to manage employees, often feels like running a day care center.
5) Ability to Earn a Great Income - This is huge! It may surprise you how many people start family businesses without having a plan for making income. You need to know what to do, how to do it, and how you make money at it before you invest your money. It would shock you how many people I coach through the selection process who don't even know what they want to make, or what they want their business to do for them.
If this information has been helpful to you, let me know! I love hearing stories from everyone out there.
Best wishes to you!

Finding a Great Family Business
It seems like most people have to fail at several family businesses before they even know what they really want out of their business, or what business can really give make it happen for them. The problem is most of us will fail once, get burned, loose money, and say "That stuff doesn't work". This really doesn't make sense, but I've seen it happen many times. It's kind of like learning to walk, you can't just say I'll try it once but if I fall, I'm never going to do that again. Sounds silly doesn't it?
However, It's always wiser to learn critical information at other's expense then it is to waste your time and money learning the ropes. I've also failed at several business ventures that I started, but then I found the right opportunity for my family. I also found a great mentor that helped me learn the ropes. It's their story that I want to share with you today.
One business they had been running suddenly and unexpectedly came to a disastrous end. So they found themselves needing income, and needing to start a business and take it to $10,000 per month profit in just 3 months. Sounds intimidating if you're not used to making money, but they were dead serious about doing it. So they hired a professional Home Business Consultant to help them...
- Understand what the characteristics of a great opportunity looked like.
- Come up with a list of 100 great home businesses that fit those characteristics.
- Interview these 100 companies to find which one was the best fit for them.
Well, first of all, DON'T go do all that. You don't need to because I'm going to help you understand what to look for in a great opportunity right now.
The Characteristics of a great opportunity are
- Must have Patented Proprietary Products/Services.
- Must have Consumable Products/Services.
- Must be in an Industry that's Exploding.
- Must have a product that People Develop and Emotional Connection to.
Here's Why they're important.
1) Patented Proprietary Products make it so that you're not selling something that everyone else has. So if you're company is selling cell phones, you're competing with everyone else out there in the same industry. It's probably not a good choice, because as soon as Walmart decides to sell cell phone's, they are going to be able to do it cheaper then you. Your business can literally be wiped out in 1 day like that. Just because Walmart can sell that phone for $2 cheaper than you.
2) Consumable products are important because you want to get repeat sales. Let's look at the everlasting-gob-stopper (the gum in Willie Wanka that never wears down or looses it's taste). If you sold those, you could literally run out of people to market your product to. However, If you had gum that only lasted for a little while, then you would develop repeat business. This is a critical concept. You want your customers buying your product/service over and over again. It will make you a fortune.
3) You want an industry that's exploding. Even average marketers can sell a hot dog to a starving man. It's a "no brainer". Pick an exploding industry like the Wellness Industry that is predicted to be the next Trillion Dollar Industry. It's like selling picks and shovels to people in the Gold Rush... You're gonna make a fortune.
4) if you have Products that people are passionate about, Your customers will actually market your business for you. Think about what happens with people who are having problems with a serious health challenge. If they get results with a serious health challenge, and it was because your product made the difference... they're gonna tell the world. So make sure, you're selling something that really pushes a hot button.
If you will apply these factors to your search for a business, then you could potentially save thousands of dollars and years waisted 'trying' to find the right business. If you would like to see one of my businesses and how I market it, simply go to http://www.glycocare.goldenkeys.net/ to see how I'm making my living from home.
Best wishes to you!

FamilyBizTips: Helping Families Start and Run Successful Home Businesses
This Blog is Dedicated to helping Families start and run successful home businesses. It is a place where average ordinary people can get the critical information they need to be successful.
I still remember when I quit my job 3 years ago. I had always promised myself that I would be a great dad, but there I was 560 miles from home, doing a job that I hated. Every other weekend, I would drive for 10 hours just to spend less that a whole day with my kids.... After my wife would pry my kids off my legs, I would get in my red truck and drive all the way back.
I was exhausted, and I felt like a complete failure. But the good news was, I finally said "ENOUGH"! I decided that I didn't care if I lost everything I owned. I didn't care if I had to work at Wallmart pushing carts in from the parking lot, I was determined to find a way I could be home with my family. So I quit a great job in Computers, and moved back home.
As a work from home dad who had to make money (and make it fast), I realized that there were many unique problems that people like me were facing. How do I find the right buisness for me? How can I actually spend more time with my family and grow an exciting business at the same time? Can I really make a great income working from home and still have a life?
This blog is for helping parents find the success working from home. Here, you can learn from both my failures and my successes. Both failures and successes are my mentors, and I will share them freely with you.
God Bless you,
Joe
